It's been a busy semester for me and a lot has happened since the last update! I had the privledge of being chosen to peform in house band for one of Berklee's biggest shows of the year - Singer's Night. The concert took place on March 30th and received rave reviews from the sold-out audience at the Berklee Performance Center. Video footage of the show can be viewed in the Media section of the site.

In other news, the Berklee Metal Ensemble will be performing our end-of-semester recital at the David Friend Recital Hall on April 26th. That same night I'll be joining the Nikolas Metaxas band on stage for the first time at Harper's Ferry in Allston, MA.

On April 18th, I will be working as Stage Manager at the House of Blues for an event that's being hosted by a club at Berklee that I am a member of - the B.E.A.T. (Berklee Entrepreneurial Action Team). The event, "Keeping the HeartB.E.A.T." will feature 8 of Boston's top local acts, including a Michael Jackson Tribute. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds go to the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute!

In Fall 2009 I had the opportunity to work with the Berklee administration to start a college's first ever Metal Ensemble. Since then the idea has become an official part of the school's curriculum and the group has performed a packed show at the David Friend Recital hall in December 2009 and has now been booked to perform alongside the Neo-Soul Ensemble at the Berklee Performance Center on February 1st! Come check out the show - it starts at 8PM.

The Spring semester is almost halfway done and it's coming along nicely - and, of course, keeping me pretty busy. Outside of school I've been gigging with my band Mortaviv. The band won the first round of the Emergenza competition and we'll be playing at the semifinals at the Paradise Club in Boston, MA in May. We also have several other gigs lined up in Boston and New Bedford in the coming months. For more info, visit www.mortaviv.com.

I'll be making my 3rd appearance at Berklee's Guitar Night, this time playing rhythm guitar in my friend Pat Brennan's band. This show will be on April 9th at the Berklee Performance Center.

Finally, my Senior Guitar Recital at Berklee is coming up on April 11th at 2pm in the 1W Rectial Hall (1140 Boylston St., Boston, MA 02115). I'll be playing several of my band's songs, as well some different material spanning a number of different styles. Feel free to stop by and check it out if you are in the area!

Happy New Year to everyone! This year is off to a busy start with the 2009 NAMM Convention. I've been able to meet and discuss Guitar Messenger business with some of my favorite artists and music companies, as well as reconnect with some old friends. I'm also excited to be starting my 8th semester at Berklee College of Music this month.

In other news, my band Mortaviv is preparing for the recording of our debut album this Spring, as well as lining up a series of gigs. We'll be playing that Emergenza Festival on February 12th at The Church Bar in Boston, MA.

Also, check out a demo of a new song I co-wrote with Chloe Pappas in late 2008 for a songwriting contest at Berklee. It's called FOR OUR DOUBTS. Click HERE or go to Media >Audio > 2008 to check it out.

It's been a while since the last update - though it certainly hasn't been due to inactivity. On the contrary, I've been busy a number of things over the past few months. I concluded the summer by playing a string of gigs with the Joey Gilmore Band in South Florida. Currently I'm finishing off my 7th semester at Berklee. It's been a busy one - besides the school work, I've been recording on a number of sessions and working with my new band MORTAVIV (http://www.myspace.com/mortaviv).

Guitar Messenger has also been progressing - new forum, new interviews, reviews, columns, etc... Check out this VIDEO of me jamming with Mikael Ã…kerfeldt of Opeth as part of the Opeth Artist Masterclass on guitarmessenger.com. Many exciting new updates and news coming soon - stay tuned!

The Guitar Night gig was a great success. My band closed the night with "Acid Rain" by Liquid Tension Experiment. The video of this performance can be viewed under Media > Videos, as well as on YouTube (Link).
